Friday Family Film Night: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS review

In which the Mister and Kid 2 join me in reviewing LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1986), a musical horror-comedy from director Frank Oz, with screenplay and musical play credits to Howard Ashman, and based off 1960s screenplay by Charles B. Griffith and Roger Corman's film.  

A timid and down-on-his-luck floral assistant named Seymour Krelborn (Rick Moranis) working in a dilapidated Skid Row flower shop discovers a strange, exotic new plant that he names "Audrey II."  As Seymour desperately tries to win the affections of his coworker Audrey (Ellen Greene), he soon realizes the bizarre plant requires a steady diet of fresh human blood to survive, causing it to grow into a gargantuan, talking attraction.  With his newfound fame and romance hanging in the balance, Seymour finds himself sinking deeper into a horrific cycle of feeding the increasingly demanding botanical monster before its dark origins and global ambitions are fully unleashed.  The film clocks in at 1 h 34 m, is rated PG-13 and currently streaming on Hoopla and to buy/rent on Prime Video.  Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
