How much of your week went into building a treatment plan from scratch for a patient with a really common condition? Dr. Jordan Robertson, a naturopathic doctor and the founder of The Confident Clinician, has some thoughts about that.
Jordan’s view is that patients aren’t asking for a one-of-a-kind protocol. They’re asking to get better. When something works for most people with a condition, that’s where you start. Individualizing care means helping the patient fit that plan into their actual life. Treating every plan like a custom build is one of the biggest drains on a practitioner’s week.
In this episode, Jordan and I talk about why the support you keep putting off is the thing that gets you busy. We also get into the Netflix test for boundaries and how she built a clinic that ran without her for three years.
