Rafe's Reba McEntire wig has vanished, Rizz is apparently stockpiling emergency sourdough, and an airline reportedly offered passengers a $12 food voucher after a terrifying emergency landing. Welcome to The Rizzuto Show, where every disaster comes with a punchline and customer service is somehow the biggest horror story.
Rizz, Moon Valjean, Lern, Rafe Williams, and the gang are back with another funny podcast loaded with St. Louis news, Halloween chaos, bizarre discoveries, hilarious personal stories, and the kind of conversations that should probably never make it past a morning production meeting.
First, there's an emergency at the radio station. Rafe's beloved Reba McEntire wig is missing, and absolutely everybody is a suspect. While searching the office, he discovers Rizz's emergency sourdough bread stash, which raises several important questions. Why does a grown man need emergency bread? How much sourdough constitutes a survival kit? And why does this studio have enough wigs to open a questionable hair salon?
The crew also prepares for Halloween, with Rizz planning to dress as David from The Lost Boys and Rafe taking on the legendary shirtless saxophone player. Unfortunately, Rafe still needs an actual saxophone, a tan, and possibly a little more confidence. Lern is going as Roller Girl from Boogie Nights, which means she'll be wearing roller skates on a boat. Nothing could possibly go wrong there.
Meanwhile, Moon considers Halloween costume possibilities, and the gang takes a nostalgic detour through forgotten '80s hair metal, Burt Reynolds movies, and the arrival of Nirvana that changed rock music forever.
Then there's the surprisingly lucrative business of decorating people's porches with pumpkins. One entrepreneur charges hundreds or even thousands of dollars to arrange seasonal decorations, leading the crew to debate whether this is a brilliant business model or proof that people will pay almost anything to avoid doing yard work.
Rafe also gives an update on his beloved elderly puggle, Beau, whose luxurious lifestyle includes multiple dog beds, personal transportation, and a potential birthday celebration that gets wildly out of hand. The crew even starts planning an elaborate photo shoot and charity calendar. Apparently, this dog has a better retirement plan than most Americans.
But things take a serious turn with the story of an American Eagle flight from St. Louis to Philadelphia that reportedly experienced mechanical trouble, smoke, falling oxygen masks, and an emergency landing. Passengers were told to leave their belongings and run from the aircraft.
Terrifying enough.
Then the gang hears about the reported compensation: a $12 airport food voucher.
Twelve dollars.
At an airport.
Congratulations on surviving. Please enjoy approximately three bites of a sandwich.
Rizz, Moon, Lern, and Rafe debate what passengers should receive after an experience like that, with suggestions ranging from free flights to airline stock. Rafe also shares his own frustrating experience with a canceled connecting flight that left him driving from Denver to St. Louis.
And because St. Louis apparently can't go a week without something bizarre appearing on the road, the crew discusses a mysterious aircraft-shaped object transported down Lindbergh Boulevard. The object turns out to be a Boeing MQ-25 Stingray unmanned refueling aircraft, sparking a debate about military technology, social media, and whether sensitive equipment should be hauled around looking like a prop from a science-fiction movie.
It's Halloween costumes, missing wigs, emergency bread, pet-parent chaos, aviation nightmares, weird St. Louis sightings, and sarcastic humor from a crew that can turn almost any headline into a completely unnecessary argument.
If you love strange news, ridiculous stories, pop culture commentary, and the unpredictable energy of a St. Louis morning show, this funny podcast is exactly the kind of bad influence your commute deserves.
Join Rizz and the gang for another episode of this funny podcast, where the wigs are itchy, the bread is for emergencies only, and a $12 airline voucher might be the scariest Halloween surprise of all.
