Is candy a snack? Why does choosing something on Netflix feel like a full-time job? And who the hell needs emergency sourdough hidden under their desk? Welcome to The Rizzuto Show, where Halloween is approaching, the wigs are disappearing, and nobody is qualified to investigate anything.
Rizz, Moon Valjean, King Scott Lern, and Rafe Williams are serving up a triple helping of St. Louis morning show chaos in this funny podcast packed with ridiculous debates, celebrity gossip, rock music, questionable Halloween costumes, and stories that probably should have stayed in the group chat.
First, Rizz asks a deceptively simple question: Is candy a snack or a treat? What follows is a full-blown nutritional identity crisis involving Hershey bars, Skittles, Little Debbie snack cakes, Rice Krispies Treats, applesauce, and the long-lost glory of SnackWell's cookies. Moon thinks candy deserves its own category, Lern has very specific rules about sour candy, and Rafe is just trying to figure out why everybody suddenly forgot what a snack is. Somewhere, a bag of chips is feeling extremely superior.
Then it's time for Strip Club or Daycare?, the listener game where real business names are so confusing that even the lifelines need lifelines. With names like Giggly Wiggly, Perfect Angels, The Mouse's Ear, and Touched by an Angel, callers compete for concert tickets while the crew discovers that naming a business might be the most dangerous creative exercise in America.
Meanwhile, Ludo crashes the studio to preview their three-night Halludoween celebration at The Pageant in St. Louis. The band talks costumes, different setlists, special guests, elaborate stage production, and the announcement that they're taking the following year off from the annual event. There's also a completely fictional dragon, some aggressive glockenspiel appreciation, and an incredible live performance of their Halloween song “Scare Me.” Because nothing says spooky season like a rock band showing up with an instrument nobody on the show knows how to discuss responsibly.
The music nostalgia continues with Gin Blossoms, as the crew revisits the band's '90s hits, talks about their Stifel Charity Classic appearance, and gets into the kind of rock-radio conversation that makes you realize everybody has a slightly different memory of the alternative music era. There's also a deep dive into bands touring without original members, Tom Petty guitar collectibles, and the eternal question of when a band is still technically the same band.
Then comes streaming fatigue, the modern condition where you spend 40 minutes scrolling through Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, watch three trailers, argue about your options, and ultimately go to bed without watching anything. Rizz discovers that streaming subscribers reportedly waste 110 hours a year just looking for something to watch. Rafe accidentally chooses the wrong Halloween II, Moon can't read half the titles on his TV anymore, and Rizz's new iPhone comes with an unexpected milestone: increasing the font size. Congratulations, technology has officially become an aging simulator.
The celebrity commentary gets even more ridiculous when the gang examines Tim McGraw's extremely dramatic tan alongside family photos with Faith Hill. Is it sunshine? Bronzer? A spray-tan setting that should require a permit? Nobody knows, but everyone has an opinion, and the comparisons get increasingly unhelpful.
And just when you think this daily comedy show has exhausted its supply of nonsense, Rafe's Reba McEntire wig goes missing.
That's right. A full-scale investigation begins over a missing wig, and everyone in the studio becomes a suspect. During the search, Rafe discovers Rizz's emergency sourdough bread stash, which apparently serves as an essential workplace survival resource. Forget fire extinguishers. In this building, you're getting a loaf of bread and a motivational insult.
Halloween costume planning is equally unhinged. Rizz and Rafe are preparing for The Lost Boys, with Rizz taking on Kiefer Sutherland's David and Rafe attempting to recreate the movie's legendary saxophone player. The problem? Rafe needs an actual saxophone, an impressive tan, and enough confidence to spend the night dressed like an oiled-up '80s music-video fever dream. Lern has Boogie Nights plans involving roller skates, Moon considers costume options, and everybody debates the fine line between Halloween dedication and making a terrible personal decision.
Add in wig swaps, the mysterious Fart Police Incident, weird entertainment news, old-school rock arguments, and the everyday nonsense that somehow qualifies as a professional broadcasting career, and you've got another funny podcast from the people who can turn absolutely nothing into an entire morning of entertainment.
Whether you're here for Ludo's live performance, Gin Blossoms nostalgia, Halloween comedy, celebrity news, the snack-versus-treat controversy, or the mystery of why a grown man needs emergency sourdough, The Rizzuto Show delivers the sarcastic humor and ridiculous conversations that make St. Louis mornings just a little less normal.
It's another funny podcast full of music, laughs, questionable judgment, and grown adults behaving like they were left unsupervised at a Halloween party.
And somehow, that's exactly why you keep listening.
