Britain is banning imports from Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria — the latest hostile move by the Labour government after its decision to recognise a Palestinian state in the wake of October 7th. Israel has warned it will retaliate, while the United States says there will be repercussions. Saudi Arabia has vowed a tough response after Iran-backed Houthis launched dozens of missiles and drones at targets across the kingdom, wounding at least 73 people and hitting energy sites in the southwest. The Houthis say the barrage was retaliation for more than 100 Saudi airstrikes in Yemen over the past three days.

The Prime Minister’s Office strongly denies a report that Benjamin Netanyahu was personally warned of a major Hamas attack in the days before October 7th. Haaretz says UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed issued the warning, and that Egypt also raised concerns. The PMO calls the report “an absolute lie,” while Naftali Bennett says he knows “for a fact” that it is true.

Iran could run through its offshore oil stocks by mid-October, with around 29 million barrels believed to be stored at sea, much of it destined for China. Tehran is also threatening new restrictions on shipping in the Gulf, adding to pressure on key regional energy routes.

Lebanon and the United States are discussing new ways to verify Hezbollah’s disarmament south of the Litani River. Options reportedly include extending UNIFIL’s mandate, deploying a European force or bringing in troops from individual countries. Israel has so far approved only Azerbaijan among those being considered.
