A Kurdish Warning on Turkey | Diliman Abdulkader

Dela

Turkey’s growing influence in Syria is becoming a major security concern for Israel. Israeli strikes on an airbase near Aleppo sent a warning to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Israel will not tolerate a Turkish military buildup close to its borders. Diliman Abdulkader, founder of American Friends of Kurdistan, joins Israel in Ten to explain why he believes Israel is right to act preemptively against an increasingly hostile Ankara.

The IDF says it killed two Hamas Nukhba terrorists in separate strikes in Khan Younis this week, including a former bodyguard of slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Both men took part in the October 7 attack on Israel and the raid on the IDF’s Re’im Base.

Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov has warned the UN Security Council that if the Gaza ceasefire collapses, there may be no roadmap left to revive it. He criticized continued Israeli strikes, but also said Hamas has still not met its commitments to disarm, warning that its weapons, tunnel activity and obstruction are strengthening calls for a return to war.

Iran says a US naval blockade is preventing it from importing enough fuel to compensate for shortages in domestic production, as long queues form at petrol stations. Tehran is also reviewing its heavily subsidized fuel quotas as Washington intensifies economic pressure on the country.

Qatar’s prime minister is in Tehran in a renewed effort to mediate between Iran and the United States. Talks are expected to focus on de-escalation, freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and restoring the pre-war status quo.

The UN Security Council will discuss the future of UNIFIL in southern Lebanon, as Beirut warns there is currently no alternative to the international force. A Lebanese official says that without UNIFIL or another international presence, the Lebanese army could find itself in direct confrontation with the IDF.

And Israel is reportedly considering expelling British officials from the US-led international center coordinating the Gaza ceasefire and postwar arrangements. The move comes amid a deepening dispute with London over the E1 settlement plan and possible British sanctions against Israel.
