This week on Cozy Comfort Club, I’ve got a quick bonus episode because I just finished binging all six episodes of Bergerac on PBS, and I really, really liked this one!

The 2025 reimagining stars Damien Molony as Detective Jim Bergerac, a grieving father trying to rebuild his life while investigating a murder on the beautiful island of Jersey.

We’re talking about why this was such a great binge, the gorgeous Jersey setting, Jim Bergerac being an absolute mess, the strong cast including Zoë Wanamaker and Philip Glenister, and a surprise appearance from Patience star Ella Maisy Purvis.

We also have two mysteries unfolding, plenty of red herrings, and a final twist that I absolutely DID NOT see coming.

And, of course, I have to answer the most important Cozy Comfort Club question: Is Bergerac actually cozy?

Don’t worry, this bonus episode is spoiler-free!

In This Episode

We chat about:

* Why Bergerac turned into such a great binge

* Coming into this reboot without having watched the original John Nettles series

* Damien Molony winning me over as Jim Bergerac

* Why Jim reminded me a little of A Taste for Murder

* The gorgeous island of Jersey and its mix of British and French culture

* The two mysteries that kept me guessing

* All those red herrings

* Philip Glenister being fantastic, as always

* Zoë Wanamaker as Jim’s wealthy mother-in-law, Charlie

* Spotting Ella Maisy Purvis from Patience

* Jim’s raspy voice...because we need to talk about it

* Why I definitely would NOT call this a cozy mystery

* Why it still earns a spot in my cozy-adjacent category

* My spoiler-free Watch It or Skip It verdict

CCC Verdict: WATCH IT

Cozy Level: ☕ Cozy-adjacent

Where to Watch: PBS Masterpiece or PBS Passport

Season 1: 6 episodes

And good news for my fellow Bergerac fans: the series is continuing, with even more Jim Bergerac to come!
