This week on Cozy Comfort Club, we’re heading into the world of art, antiques, forgery, and murder to chat about Art Detectives Season 1 on Acorn TV.

DI Mick Palmer and DC Shazia Malik investigate crimes involving everything from vandalized paintings and Viking artifacts to vintage wine, Titanic memorabilia, and rare collectibles. We’re talking about the mysteries that surprised me, Mick and Shazia’s developing partnership, Mick’s complicated relationship with his father Ron, and why I wanted a little more character development from this first season.

And, of course, we’re talking about all the things that made Art Detectives unexpectedly cozy for me: beautiful art, museums, rainy weather, countryside travel, pubs and B&Bs, fish and chips, Mick’s many layers, piano playing, and so much tea.

Spoiler warning: We’re talking about Art Detectives Season 1, so there will be some light spoilers, but I won’t spoil the big mystery reveals. You can still listen if you haven’t finished the season yet.

The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas

If the combination of art and mystery was one of your favorite parts of Art Detectives, you might want to add The Art of Theft to your reading list. It’s Book 4 in Sherry Thomas’s Lady Sherlock series, and I’ve started this one but haven’t finished it yet, so stay tuned for my final thoughts!

Art Detectives Is Coming Back!

Good news: we have more Art Detectives to look forward to!

Before the full second season arrives, we’re getting a two-part Christmas mystery in December 2026, followed by a full six-episode second season in 2027.

And yes, I will absolutely be watching a Christmas Art Detectives mystery. Art, antiques, murder, and Christmas? That sounds made for Cozy Comfort Club.

Coming Next

Next Tuesday, we’re heading over to BritBox to chat about the The Hardacres Season 2!

We’ll be talking about all six episodes, where the Hardacre family finds themselves this season, the characters and relationships, all that period-drama mess, and whether Season 2 still has that cozy feeling I loved the first time around.

Until next time, stay cozy! ☕
