From SNIPPY 2026 in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, I sit down with my friend Trey Hudson, Director of the Anomalous Studies and Observation Group (ASOG), to talk about one of the most intriguing areas of concentrated high strangeness being studied today: The Meadows.
Trey and his team have researched The Meadows for approximately a decade. In this conversation, he describes how the phenomena and their investigative methods have evolved since 2016, including encounters the team interprets as possible non-human intelligence and what Trey describes as an increasing ability to establish a kind of “rapport” with whatever may be interacting with them.

Trey brings an unusual background to this work. A retired U.S. Army Military Intelligence officer and former Department of Defense security specialist, his career included intelligence analysis, counterintelligence, emergency management, security operations and other highly structured disciplines. Today, he applies that analytical mindset to some of the strangest phenomena imaginable.
What makes ASOG’s approach particularly interesting is that the team does not treat instrumentation and consciousness as mutually exclusive. Trey describes an investigation model that considers both what the equipment records and what the human experiencer reports.
And perhaps the biggest question of all:
What happens when the phenomena appear to start interacting back?
