Uncle Wiggily's Jack-o'-lantern is a short story following Uncle Wiggily, a kind old gentleman rabbit, who spends a cheerful autumn day carving pumpkin lanterns with the Bushtail squirrel brothers. When a sudden errand calls him through dark woods to visit a sick young rabbit named Sammie Littletail, his auto lamps run dry — and only the glowing Jack-o'-lantern lights the way. The same flickering lantern then sends a would-be burglar fox fleeing into the night, proving that a carved pumpkin can be far more useful than expected.
