Today we're celebrating Honor Monday and talking about the power of honoring the people around us. In Genesis 45:13, Joseph tells his brothers to share with their father all the honor he has received in Egypt. Joseph's journey reminds us that even when life gets difficult, God can still be working behind the scenes to position us for something greater.
Pastor Jason and Pastor Scot explain that honor means lifting people up, recognizing their value, and bringing attention to the good in them. The world's way is often to tear others down so we can feel better about ourselves. But God's way is different! When we encourage people, celebrate their strengths, and speak life into their relationships, we create an atmosphere where people can grow and thrive.
Think about your spouse, your coworkers, your friends, or the people you see every day. It's easy to notice the things that annoy us or the qualities we wish were different. But what if we intentionally looked for the things we admire instead? What if we actually told people what we appreciate about them instead of keeping those thoughts to ourselves?
You have the opportunity to make someone feel valued today. A simple compliment, an encouraging word, or a public post recognizing someone's good qualities can make a bigger difference than you realize.
So here's your challenge: choose a few people today and tell them something you genuinely admire about them. Let's make #HonorMonday a movement that encourages people, strengthens relationships, and reminds others of the good God has placed within them.
Don't tear people down to build yourself up. Lift others up, and bring honor wherever you go!
