You Can't Please Everyone: Be a God-Pleaser | Wake Up
Good morning and welcome to Wake Up with Pastor Jason and Pastor Scot!
Today we're talking about the danger of being a people-pleaser and the freedom that comes from choosing to please God instead. In Mark 6, King Herod made a terrible decision because he was more concerned about what his dinner guests thought of him than doing what was right.
Pastor Jason and Pastor Scot talk about how there will always be people who don't like you—no matter how successful you become, how kind you are, or how hard you try to please them. Instead of spending all your energy trying to win over people who will never be satisfied, put your energy into the relationships God has placed in your life.
Sometimes being a people-pleaser can even cause us to compromise our values, our relationships, and our faith just to keep someone else happy. But the goal isn't to make everyone happy. The goal is to be a God-pleaser. When you follow God's Word, you can trust Him to bring the right people and the right relationships into your life.
You'll also hear an encouraging reminder about letting God peel away the layers that life has put on you. Just like an old piece of furniture can have something beautiful underneath years of paint, God can remove the layers of hurt, insecurity, fear, and past mistakes and reveal who He created you to be.
You don't have to live your life trying to earn everyone's approval. Love people, treat them well, and walk in God's truth—but remember whose approval matters most.
Stop trying to please everyone. Please God, walk in His purpose, and let Him bring the right people into your life.
