The tragedy is also reopening old wounds in Madison, Wisconsin. Community leaders have pointed out that 11 years ago, a Black man lost his life just one block away from where this incident occurred. Many residents say this latest incident has reignited long-standing pain and distrust within Madison’s Black and Brown communities.
