Today we’re covering several major developments in the investigation into the death of Nolan Wells.
During yesterday’s press conference, attorney Benjamin Crump stated that the independent autopsy report is not yet complete. He also indicated that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department’s autopsy findings have not yet been released. We’ll discuss what was said publicly, along with information we have received suggesting there may be a dispute over which side will release its autopsy findings first. If true, it could have significant implications for how the investigation unfolds.
We’ll also take another look at Chief Medical Examiner Stacy Turner and review several past autopsy determinations that have generated public scrutiny and controversy involving Black men. We’ll examine why those previous cases continue to raise questions for some members of the public.
In addition, newly released GPS data from the boat Nolan Wells and the three other young men were on has revealed a timeline that many people are now closely examining. We’ll break down one particular portion of that timeline that stands out and explain why it has become a focus of discussion.
Finally, Nolan Wells’ mother shared an emotional message on Instagram thanking everyone who has supported her family throughout this difficult time. We’ll watch her message and discuss what it means as the investigation continues.
