a young boy living with his father and dog near a dense Massachusetts forest, where he stumbles upon a hidden clearing filled with cryptic goat-man symbols, animal-skull stick dolls, and a strange stone altar. After accidentally knocking over one of the unsettling dolls, he flees back home with his dog, only to be terrorized for nights by a rhythmic, sinister, and ceaseless nocturnal chanting echoing from deep within the woods.
Despite his father dismissing the eerie sounds as teenage parties, the escalating dread culminates in a terrifying supernatural encounter that leaves the narrator permanently scarred, terrified of the silence, and determined to keep his windows sealed tight for the rest of his life.
