Tommy Hall is originally from Maine, near Boston, but now lives in London.
He first came on the podcast in February 2023, after experiencing alopecia areata, which evolved into universalis, and lost all of the hair on his entire body. He began using JAK inhibitors to treat his condition, which were not approved on the NHS at the time to treat hair loss.
He joins me today with an update on his progress, sharing that he has now tried three different types of JAK inhibitor, the challenges that have come with this, and even the clinical trial he is now participating in.
Tommy says that he has come to terms with his hair loss, and how this experience has forced him to challenge what he felt about himself, his identity and his relationship with how he looks.
He has seen great success in the last 18 months, with his SALT score going from 100 to 7!
