Content creators have decided Dee Dee Blanchard was a good mother. Their evidence: Gypsy Rose lies, Gypsy has a real genetic condition, and Gypsy's prison calls prove Dee Dee cared. The prosecutor who charged Gypsy with second-degree murder called what Dee Dee did twenty years of harm — and he had the records to back it up.
Gypsy's 1q21.1 microdeletion is real. It doesn't explain the wheelchair, the feeding tube, the shaved head, the muscular dystrophy diagnosis, or the leukemia drugs Dee Dee secured from doctors who only had her word. When tests came back negative, Dee Dee found new doctors. When a neurologist suspected Munchausen by proxy in 2007, the medical interventions continued.
The movement's logic collapses on itself: Gypsy's calls are evidence when they help Dee Dee, and lies when they don't. Dee Dee's own family confronted her years before the murder. Her father flushed her ashes.
