Sandra Birchmore was ruled a suicide by a system with four officers' fingerprints on it. Bob Motta ranks what each one did. The lead trooper, Matthew Dunne, who chose a parking lot over an interview room, a conversation over a recording, and now admits Farwell lied to him. The forensic examiner, Nicholas Guarino, who read mfarwell1 off Sandra's phone and still sent Farwell's phone home clean. The supervisor, Sgt. John Fanning, who prosecutors say told Farwell's twin the case was dead before it started and who went on to run the Karen Read investigation. And the twin himself, Officer William Farwell, who admitted his own relationship with Sandra, lied to state police, and was permanently decertified. Four segments, one full episode, and the FBI had to redo every piece of it. Farwell is charged with killing Sandra and her unborn child. His defense says suicide. Trial continues in Boston.
