It can repair tissue. But then what?

Most people think a scan tells them how bad their injury is.

And if the damage looks serious enough, surgery will fix the problem.

But there's an important distinction that often gets missed.

Surgery can repair damaged tissue.

It can't rebuild your physical capacity.

In this episode, I share a conversation with someone working through our free Coaching In Your Inbox series who is preparing for shoulder surgery.

He said something that highlighted a belief I think we need to challenge.

That rehabilitation works for some people... but not for others.

The reality is more complicated.

Whether you choose surgery or not, your body still needs to rebuild the qualities required to function at a high level.

Strength.

Mobility.

Structural balance.

Stability.

Movement quality.

And ultimately, the capacity to tolerate the demands of your training, sport and life.

In this episode, I explain why getting out of pain isn't the finish line, why rehabilitation matters both before and after surgery, and why I think about the human body like building a Formula One car.

Because the goal isn't simply to repair the broken part.

It's to build the entire system so it can handle the racetrack again.

If you're currently dealing with an injury, considering surgery, or trying to return to the things you love, this is an important conversation.

Click play, and I'll explain what I mean.
