Blessed Frédéric Ozanam answered a college classmate's doubt about the Church not with an argument, but with his own winter firewood.
Challenged by a classmate to show what the Catholic Church was actually doing for Paris' poor, young law student Frédéric gathered friends in 1833 to found what became the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. His first act of charity was simple: giving his own firewood to a freezing widow, in person, face to face.
"He had two hands, and a choice about what to do with them."
Frédéric's challenge doesn't have to end when the episode does. Our free Family Pack has a saint calendar, feast-day activity pages, and family discussion questions to keep it going at home — free when you subscribe: https://shop.catholicsprouts.com/pages/every-days-a-feast-day-follow-along
