St. Regina, a teenage shepherdess secretly baptized as a baby, chose martyrdom over marriage to a Roman official.
Raised in the fields tending sheep, Regina turned her ordinary work into constant prayer with God. At fifteen, when a Roman official demanded she marry him and deny the faith she'd been secretly baptized into as a baby, Regina refused — and was martyred for holding firm.
"She already belonged to a King far greater than Olybrius could ever be, and she would not trade Him away for anything the world could offer."
