Hungry — Forget the Marbles, Save Yourself

You grew up playing Hungry Hungry Hippos like it was the most chaotic thing imaginable. You had no idea. Hungry drops a group of thrill-seeking tourists into the Louisiana bayou for what promises to be an unforgettable riverboat adventure — and delivers exactly that, just not in the way anyone signed up for. Lost in the swamplands and completely off the grid, they find themselves hunted by something massive, territorial, and absolutely done with their presence.

Directed by James Nunn and starring Madison Davenport, Joaquim de Almeida, and Tracey Bonner, Hungry is the kind of creature feature that has absolutely no business working as well as it does. It’s scrappy, it’s swampy, it’s surprisingly mean when it needs to be — and it knows exactly what kind of movie it is and commits to it fully. Whether that’s enough to make it worth your time on VOD is exactly what we’re getting into today.

This is The Reel Pineapple. Let’s talk about it. 🍍
