Reading Joel 2, in verse 28, He says: "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh." In verse 30: "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth..." And verse 32: "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered."
Then I went to chapter 3, "Proclaim this among the Gentiles... Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat... Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the press is full, the vats overflow... Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!"
It was as if the Lord said to me, "This is My power. This is what I am promising for the last days. This is the great revival."
I sensed that there was a revival coming that was greater than anything the generations before me had ever seen. If we take Joel literally, this prophet was prophesying about the return of Christ. When I found these promises, I believed God would fulfil this "latter rain." I began to pray, not for the former rain, but for the latter rain – the rain that would bring revival and usher in the Kingdom of God.
I’ve anchored my faith on Joel 2.28: "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh." I believed that wherever I preached, the Holy Spirit would pour out His power because "all flesh" meant everyone, everywhere. Revival does not begin merely in preaching, prayer, or reading. Revival starts in the heart.
