I build this technology, and I want the useful parts to succeed. My background as an LAPD officer and instructor makes me unwilling to confuse a confident statement with a supported conclusion. So in this episode I take the angry comments about AI seriously, without letting anger write the verdict.
"AI slop" is too broad. The question I care about: is the work accurate, useful, appropriate, and owned by somebody willing to answer for it? We look at who ends up carrying the cleanup, why a polished draft is not the same as a finished result, what to ask when somebody promises more appointments or hours saved, and how to check the record instead of trusting a cheerful confirmation.
The public comments I mention are unverified personal accounts, not studies. Every example with numbers in this video is hypothetical.
