Welcome back to English Shadowing with Temmy! In this episode, we're diving into four everyday English patterns that native speakers use all the time in real conversation. If you want to sound more natural and confident when you speak English, these are must-know expressions.

Let's break them down one by one.

1. Get the Hang of (Something)

Meaning: To learn how to do something, usually after some practice.

Example: I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Whether it's a new job, a new game, or a new skill, this phrase is perfect for describing the moment things start clicking.

2. On the Same Page

Meaning: To have the same understanding or opinion as someone else.

Example: Let's make sure we're on the same page.

This one is great for work, relationships, or any situation where agreement matters โ€” you'll hear it constantly in meetings and conversations.

3. Up in the Air

Meaning: Not yet decided; uncertain.

Example: Our plans are still up in the air.

Use this whenever something hasn't been settled yet โ€” a schedule, a decision, or even someone's future.

4. Call It a Day

Meaning: To stop working on something for the day.

Example: Let's call it a day.

Next time you're wrapping up work or a task, skip "let's stop" and try this more natural-sounding phrase instead.

Practice with Shadowing

The best way to make these phrases stick is through shadowing โ€” listening to a native speaker and repeating right along with them, matching the rhythm and pronunciation as closely as possible. In today's episode, we practice 10 real-life sentences for each phrase, from simple to more advanced.

๐ŸŽง Listen to the full episode, repeat out loud, and shadow every sentence.
๐Ÿ” Do this daily, and you'll notice real improvement in your fluency and pronunciation.
