As our world continues to evolve, kids are now facing challenges that can be seemingly unrelatable to their adult parents. And as our collective stressors change from generation to generation, so do our nervous systems. What if there was a common thread that could connect families from a level of nourishment and support that only serves to strengthen the entire family system? Dive into this week’s episode to learn how Transcendental Meditation can support the nervous systems of all generations, allowing for a baseline of regulation, self awareness and inner peace that promotes an experience of receptive relationality. Greg and Isabella Russo take us through their father-daughter journey from being at their own individual desperation points to sharing a technique that brought them both back to themselves, and ultimately each other.

In this episode:

  • How does TM show up to support the family system?

Bios:

Isabella Russo is a high school student and high achiever whose journey with Transcendental Meditation began, somewhat reluctantly, during a challenging period in adolescence. What began as something she wasn’t entirely convinced she wanted to try became a practice that would quietly open new possibilities in her life, deepening her sense of self, expanding her experiences, and awakening a growing desire to be of service to others.

Her father, Greg, came to Transcendental Meditation through challenges of his own. As he experienced the profound effect of the practice in his life, he recognized that it might offer his daughter something he could not simply give her himself.

Today, meditation is something they share, and Isabella’s journey has become a beautiful example of what can happen when a young person is given a simple practice and the space to discover its value for herself. What began as a remedy during a difficult season has become an inner resource from which so much else continues to well, a growing sense of possibility, purpose, and perhaps most importantly, a desire to turn what she has discovered within herself outward in service to the world around her.
