The Six Shooter, “Johnny Springer,” originally broadcast April 22, 1954, is episode 30 of NBC’s western series starring James Stewart as drifting gunfighter Britt Ponset. Written by Frank Burt and directed by Jack Johnstone, the episode also features Virginia Gregg, Harry Bartell, Parley Baer, and Barney Phillips.
After a violent robbery at a frontier hotel, Britt and the local sheriff follow Johnny Springer’s trail into the western country. Their pursuit reaches the cabin of a young Spanish woman whose faith in Springer clashes with the law’s accusations.
