Why can setting a healthy boundary leave you feeling guilty, anxious, or worried that someone is mad at you?

If you’ve spent years people-pleasing, saying no isn’t always as simple as knowing you’re allowed to say it. You may find yourself monitoring someone’s reaction, over-explaining your decision, replaying the conversation, or wanting to take the boundary back the moment someone seems disappointed.

In this episode of The Kelly Healing Project, I talk about why boundaries can feel so uncomfortable when you’re used to prioritizing other people’s feelings—and why that discomfort doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve done something wrong.

We’ll talk about people-pleasing, guilt after setting boundaries, over-explaining, allowing other adults to have their own reactions, and learning to trust yourself even when someone else is disappointed.

New boundaries can feel wrong before they feel normal.
