For much of my career, the doors opened because of the companies, publications, and titles I represented. Travel + Leisure. Fortune. Major brands. Recognizable organizations. And I earned my place in those rooms—but I also had the credibility of those names standing beside me.
Now, the credential is me.
That has forced me to think differently about personal credibility, how we communicate our experience, and how we make it clear what we bring to the table without turning every introduction into a résumé.
Because sometimes people know us well, but only know one version of us.
So what happens when you want to walk into a different room, sit at a different table, or step into a bigger opportunity—and the only credential you can put on the table is your own name?
Maybe the goal isn't to prove we belong. Maybe it's to become clear enough about what we bring that the right doors recognize us.
