Every bad decision now comes with photographic evidence. What a terrible time to be young.lol
My 19-year-old daughter Ruby is back after our conversation in episode 49 became Canna Curious’s second-most-listened-to episode. This time, we’re chatting about some of the difference from when I was 19 to her being 19 in todays world.
When I was 19, a questionable night out could remain a questionable night out. Now there are cameras, location sharing and a feed full of people apparently earning six figures before their brains have finished developing.
Ruby has thoughts. Including a few about my dating life that I did not necessarily request.
We get into:
● Nights out before everything could end up online.
● The pressure to turn your twenties into a productivity project.
● Being a young creative when everyone is competing for attention.
● Location sharing, privacy and how my children used to track me to know when to clean the house.
● Wellness Field Notes: hobbies that don’t need a business plan, featuring pole dancing and doing things simply because they’re fun.
● Dating: deleting the apps, meeting people in person, condoms and some unsolicited advice for Mum.
A little generational disagreement, a lot of laughter, and a reminder that life is allowed to contain things you don’t monetise.
