In this episode of Gen Wars, our multi-generational crew breaks down one of the most iconic shoot-‘em-ups of the ’90s to see if it still holds its ground in cinematic history. Directed by George P. Cosmatos (with heavy influence from screenwriter Kevin Jarre), Tombstone stars Kurt Russell as the stoic lawman Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer in a scene-stealing performance as the infamous gunslinger Doc Holliday. The film also features a powerhouse ensemble including Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, and Michael Biehn.
Set in the lawless town of Tombstone, Arizona, the story follows the legendary Earp brothers as they try to leave their gunfighting days behind—only to be dragged into a violent conflict with the ruthless outlaw gang known as THE Cowboys. Based on real historical events, Tombstone reimagines the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and delivers unforgettable one-liners, stylized shootouts, and rich Western atmosphere.
