Trump Highlights American Forestry, Timber Production, and Conservation

In his October 19, 2026, message for National Forest Products Week, President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of America’s forests to economic growth, domestic manufacturing, job creation, and environmental conservation.

Trump highlighted his administration’s efforts to expand domestic timber production and reduce reliance on imported wood products. According to the White House, these policies have prompted more than $500 million in new industry investments, increased annual industry earnings by over $5,600, and led the U.S. Forest Service to sell more than three billion board feet of timber in 2026.

The message also reported that the Forest Service exceeded its annual reforestation goal by reaching 116% of its target, the highest level in 26 years. Trump emphasized reducing regulatory burdens on logging and paper manufacturing while promoting active forest management and conservation through the Make America Beautiful Again Commission.

Overall, the message stresses expanding American timber production, supporting forestry jobs and industry, and preserving the nation’s forests for future generations.
