Why Going From Structured to Unstructured is Hard and How To Make It a Better Experience

Dela

Hello! 🎉 New and fun things are coming! Tune in next week to hear about what I've been working on. Still offering a free 20 minute consult call. Book here: https://heidibradfordcoaching.com/free/. You know you want to! Don't be shy. Come talk!

Last week, I helped at a young women's youth camp. It was delightful. The transition back to life was a bit rocky, but not nearly as bad as it has been in the past. In the past, I wouldn't know what to do with the angst that often comes from moving from one phase to another. But I know better now. It's just transition discomfort and it's normal. Listen in to hear about my camp week and how to make transitions a bit better. Watch on YouTube here.

Take Aways

  • Heidi's experience coming home from camp
  • Have you ever experienced feeling weird and wondering what's wrong when ending one thing and moving on to another?
  • Often this happens when we're going from structured to unstructured. Sometimes it happens going from unstructured to structured. And it can even happen going from structured to structured.
  • It's normal to feel unsettled when shifting from one activity to another sometimes.
  • What to do:
  1. Recognize your in a transition
  2. Remind yourself that nothing has gone wrong
  3. Ask yourself, "Now what?"
  • Part of "Now what" is to identify structure within the transition or the structure in your upcoming activity. This brings calm to our mind and body.
  • It may be helpful to mourn leaving your last phase/activity.

Want more support? ❤️Click here to talk with me. I'm currently offering a free 20 minute consultation call to help you get clear on where you are and how to get to a better place.
