Gina Goldfeder is a psychologist and the author of Releasing the Emotional Wound: Shamanic and Psychological Tools to Release Trauma and Rebuild Your Life. Her work draws on her training in shamanism, dream interpretation, psychdrama, and sacred geometry. She helps individuals and couples find core wounds and uses both psychological and spiritual techniques to release them to build a new and functional identity.
Here she and Dawson discuss:
Great psychology as spiritual
The wound as the portal to healing
Why we shouldn't be in a hurry to fix your wounds
Exercise: Write about the you with this wound and the you without it
The ways we wear armor and eventually we forget we even have it on
Our strategies to avoid suffering that disconnect us from who we really are
Exercise: In what ways am I armored?
Why some people seek help and others do not
How for some people, suffering becomes the purpose of life
The practice of owning your life and being responsible
Exercise: Where have I gotten comfortable with my wounds?
Why at some point there are no more words or thoughts, you need more
Exercise: What ritual can I use to release what I no longer need?
