The 27 books of the New Testament did not land in our hands by accident. We continued Hagios Biblios with Canon of Scripture, exploring why the Church recognised exactly these writings as the ones to be read, translated, and upheld as the standard for apostolic doctrine. As false writings began to circulate and persecution threatened to wipe out Christian literature, the Church did not panic. She carefully preserved and affirmed what God had inspired.
From the very latter half of the first century, believers were already drawing clear lines between the authentic writings of the apostles and everything that fell short. That discernment was not arbitrary. It was Spirit-led, historically grounded, and it is the reason we can hold the New Testament today with full confidence that what we have is exactly what God intended us to have.
