The Church is not a passive recipient of Scripture. She is called to uphold it, defend it, and hold fast to it as God's authoritative Word. We continued Hagios Biblios with Canon of Scripture II, walking through the different categories of ancient writings and drawing clear lines between the books recognised as Scripture and those that were disputed, rejected, or never fully affirmed by the broader Church.

The Apocryphal books are a case worth examining closely. Neither Jesus, nor the New Testament writers, nor the early Church ever recognised them as Scripture. That consistency across centuries is not a coincidence. It is one more thread of evidence reinforcing the reliability and integrity of the canon we hold in our hands today.
