Does your podcast marketing strategy still reflect the business you're running today? Or is your show representing a version of your business you've already outgrown?
Two conversations this week made me take a closer look at Evergreen Marketing, Simplified. One came from helping a client make sure her podcast keeps up with her evolving business. The other happened while I was teaching podcast SEO inside The Show, when I admitted something I'd never said out loud before: I've never really liked the name of my podcast.
And that realization led to a much bigger question. What happens when your business evolves, but your podcast marketing strategy doesn't?
In this episode, we're talking about the job your show is meant to do in your business, why a business podcast can work at every stage of your marketing funnel, and how your podcast strategy should help turn listeners into customers. We'll also look at competitive positioning, podcast discoverability, and what makes someone choose your show over another. Because podcast growth isn't just about publishing more episodes.
We'll also look at the things listeners actually see and hear: your name, description, podcast content strategy, and calls to action. Sometimes a few thoughtful changes are enough to bring your podcast business strategy back into alignment. Other times, as I've discovered, it's time for something bigger.
This is the final episode under the name Evergreen Marketing, Simplified, and I'm sharing why I've decided to make a change.
