The Batman Part II is apparently going in a VERY different direction. Robert Pattinson is opening up about Matt Reeves' highly anticipated Batman sequel, calling the movie incredibly ambitious and a "real left turn" from The Batman. So what exactly is Matt Reeves planning for Bruce Wayne's next chapter?
On today's Kristian Harloff Show, we break down Pattinson's latest comments and what they could mean for The Batman Part II. After Sebastian Stan compared the experience to The Godfather Part II, expectations surrounding the sequel are getting enormous. Could Matt Reeves actually deliver a Batman sequel that surpasses the original?
We also have some fascinating Star Wars discussion after George Lucas opened up about why he ultimately walked away from the franchise he created. Lucas had plans for another Star Wars trilogy but realized it would require roughly another decade of his life. We discuss his decision, the sequel trilogy that eventually followed under Disney, and how different Star Wars might look today if Lucas had stayed.
Then there's Blade.
Mahershala Ali is speaking very candidly about Marvel Studios' failure to get his Blade movie made. After spending years attached to the project, Ali agrees with Kevin Feige's own assessment that failing to make the movie was one of his biggest failures. What went wrong with Blade, and how did Marvel spend years developing a movie with a two-time Oscar winner without ever getting cameras rolling?
The biggest question today is what Matt Reeves is actually planning for The Batman Part II. Pattinson says the sequel takes a major left turn from the first film while still retaining elements of what made The Batman work.
Considering how secretive Reeves has been about the story — combined with Pattinson and Sebastian Stan's increasingly huge teases — could The Batman Part II become something completely different from what fans are expecting?
We're also discussing George Lucas' fascinating comments about leaving Star Wars, Mahershala Ali finally opening up about the collapse of Marvel Studios' Blade, the latest Nightwing casting report, and Brad Bird's Ray Gunn.
