In this ScreenFish 1on1 Interview, filmmakers Teddy Stern and Sneha Mehta discuss GETAR HERO and its exploration of the mythology surrounding the American cowboy. They reflect on a character who finds himself in the wrong movie, wearing the wrong outfit and simply trying to survive. The filmmakers also explore music’s ability to transcend cultural boundaries and bring people together, while examining the tension between pursuing our dreams and accepting the responsibilities that shape our lives.
GETAR HERO has qualified for consideration for the 2027 Academy Awards.
