In this ScreenFish 1on1 Interview, director Bart Schrijver discusses THE NORTH and the transformative power of spending time in nature. Schrijver reflects on why stepping away from everyday routines can change our perspective, what he discovered about himself along the journey, and whether even a bad day outdoors beats a good day in the office. He also explores our growing dependence on technology, the difficulty of truly disconnecting, and the challenges of filming on the trail.
THE NORTH is available in theatres across Canada on Friday, October 16th, 2026.
