An unpopular opinion today. So many people are convinced they cannot move forward until every issue from their past is fully processed — and I believe we're swimming in what I call Big Therapy: an industry that, at its worst, keeps people circling the same story for years. To be clear: real suffering is real, criminal acts should be prosecuted, and some therapists do excellent work. But getting a story about why you can't move forward, and rehearsing it at 30, 40, 50, 60 — what is that building? Life cannot be lived walking forwards while looking backwards. What works is unpopular: total, radical responsibility. Yes, those things happened. Yes, they were bad. And eventually, you still have to walk forward — because no one else can do this for you.
