NEWSROUND PART 2.
Dave Davis returns with another edition of Newsround, examining Liverpool's January transfer plans amid growing suggestions that the Reds could wait until the summer before strengthening their midfield.
Despite ongoing interest in Lamine Camara, Alex Scott and Manu Koné, reports from David Lynch, Lewis Steele and Ben Jacobs suggest Liverpool may not be planning an immediate midfield addition.
Dave questions whether that approach would be a mistake, particularly with Liverpool looking to maintain their momentum under Andoni Iraola and compete for major honours.
Chelsea are reportedly growing increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, with Liverpool's interest complicated by his substantial valuation and uncertainty over their January recruitment plans.
Could Liverpool turn their attention towards Monaco's Lamine Camara instead? And how much longer can the Reds afford to wait?
There's also concern surrounding Alexis Mac Allister's future, with Real Madrid reportedly monitoring the Argentine midfielder and no concrete plans currently in place for a Liverpool contract extension.
Dave discusses whether Liverpool should offer Mac Allister a new deal or consider selling him before his contract situation becomes increasingly difficult.
Ronald Araujo's permanent future is another major talking point, with Dave insisting Liverpool must secure the defender's services following his outstanding impact at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher's suggestion that Trent Alexander-Arnold should return to Liverpool receives a firm response, while links to several defensive targets raise questions about the club's longer-term recruitment strategy.
Finally, Dave looks ahead to Liverpool's Carabao Cup meeting with Chelsea, predicting potential changes to Iraola's starting XI and stressing the importance of protecting key players ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.
Will Liverpool really go through January without signing a midfielder? Is Alex Scott heading to Chelsea? And what does the future hold for Mac Allister?
