Encouragement sometimes comes in forms we wouldn’t expect. In this opening message of the Divine Encouragement series, Pastor Brandon turns to Zechariah 1 to discover how God speaks hope to His people through a call to repentance, a reminder of His promises, and a vision of His enduring mercy. After years of exile and the challenges of rebuilding, God’s people needed to know that He had not abandoned them.

God’s mercy is costly compassion that moves toward the brokenness, pain, and debt of the undeserving, taking it upon Himself. In His mercy, God remembers His promises, His people, and His plan. His call to return is not an excuse to ignore sin, but an invitation to restoration and renewed faithfulness. Even when we cannot see what God is doing, we can find encouragement in who He is and trust that His purposes will not fail.
