I met Hugo when he became President of AIESEC International. To me he was this distant, inspiring figure at first, the person everyone in the room was watching. Years later we both ended up in Amsterdam and he became a friend whose career choices I kept learning from.
Hugo calls himself a growth catalyst. Today he wears 3 hats: a fractional growth and marketing leader for deep-tech and scale-ups, a builder, and a father who decided presence was non-negotiable. He scaled EVBox from 10 to 700 people and past 100 million in revenue. He failed at two startups before that. And last year, in the same 12 months he had his second daughter, he exited his own startup and wrote a book. Talking about crazy!
What you'll hear:
Who are you without the job title?
What do you do when the role everyone respects is already starting to feel like the wrong fit?
Is it crazy to do the work nobody's paying you for, because you believe it actually matters?
How do you balance ambition with presence after you become a parent?
What if you didn't have to leave your job to start the thing on the side?
Check his book if want to learn from his experience leading teams and culture at hyper-growth >> Teams in Hell: How to End Bad Management.
