Austrian researchers are developing an electron microscope linked to a quantum computer that uses entanglement to extract more information from each electron.
The technology could produce high-resolution atomic images with far fewer particles, reducing radiation damage to delicate biological samples such as proteins. If successful, the prototype could overcome limits of conventional microscopy and reveal structures that were previously difficult to observe.
