How do you give without creating dependency? How do you receive without becoming dependent? And how do you know when helping someone is truly aligned — versus coming from obligation, insecurity, conditioning, or fear?
In this episode, I explore dependency and the dynamics of clean giving and receiving.
Healthy relationships don't require us to abandon ourselves. We can be dependable without becoming responsible for someone else's life. We can receive support without giving away our sovereignty. We can say no when we mean no — and still say yes when something is truly aligned, even when it scares us.
I share some of the ways I continue to notice these patterns in my own life: overgiving, obligation, wanting someone else to take care of me, spiritual nudges to help, and those moments when an old pattern presents itself as an option.
The invitation is to become aware enough to recognize the difference.
Can I give cleanly?
Can I receive cleanly?
Am I acting from love — or from fear, insecurity, or obligation?
Can I stay present and whole while relating to another person?
We don't have to be perfect. We can notice what comes up, make adjustments, and choose again.
Clean. Clear. Respectful. Honest.
That's what's possible in our relationships — including the relationship we have with ourselves.
