Strap yourselves in, Hearsayers, because Pauline and Kerry are back with another glorious half-hour of Herefordshire chat, questionable observations and conversations that wander off in directions even ๐๐ฒ didnโt see coming.
This time weโre tackling the important issues of the day: ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐, ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐, ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐, ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ธ, undercover gardening operations and a seagull who appears to have discovered public transport.
Yes. Itโs another perfectly normal episode of Herefordshire Hearsay. ๐

Itโs been a frantic couple of weeks, but Kerry did manage to escape to The Amp to see comedy legend Jasper Carrott.
Unfortunately, a text-message typo turned his famous โFunky Mopedโ into ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐ ๐ข๐ฃ ๐๐๐๐ โ and frankly, we may never recover.
Thereโs also chat about Ricky Gervais, The Office, comedy, swearing, Elkie Brooks and a lovely shout-out to the brilliant volunteers at The Amp.

Itโs Bacon Day, so naturally Kerry has conducted some extremely important culinary research.
But forget the bacon for a moment.
A batch? A cob? A roll? A bap? A butty? A teacake?!
And then comes the question capable of dividing families, destroying friendships and bringing Britain to its knees
Kerry has very definite views. Pauline, being vegetarian, is slightly less emotionally invested in the bacon.

Itโs time to talk ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฆ!
Pauline has been roaming the streets of Hereford asking unsuspecting local men about their facial hair.
First up is taxi driver ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป, who explains why heโs happy with a bit of stubble but wonโt be cultivating a magnificent flowing beard anytime soon.
Apparently, finding remnants of your lunch in it may be something of a drawback.
Then we collar ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป, whose family has been blessed with excellent hair on top but considerably less enthusiasm from the follicles further south.
Which inevitably leads to a discussion aboutโฆ

Pauline reveals that one such hairstyle once brought a promising blind date to a spectacularly abrupt end.
The poor man never stood a chance.

Did you know a beard was once considered a sign of intellect, wisdom and status in Ancient Greece?
Then fashions changed, razors came out, Victorians got involved and eventually we arrived at the 2010s hipster beard.
We also ponder whether some men grow beards because they donโt like their chins.
Or possibly
With Star Trek Day providing the perfect excuse, we boldly go where Herefordshire Hearsay hasnโt gone before.
Thereโs Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Scotty, Bones, Chekov and Sulu, plus memories of Lost in Space and its wonderfully clunky robot.
We discover that โBeam me up, Scottyโ apparently wasnโt actually said by Captain Kirk, attempt the Vulcan salute and establish that Kerry would happily attend a Star Trek convention dressed asโฆ

We take a quieter moment to remember Dolly Parton and reflect on her extraordinary life, music, generosity and the many causes she supported.
From Islands in the Stream and I Will Always Love You to her work helping children and supporting medical research, we celebrate a remarkable woman who used her success to help others.

Not only does he remember the podcast,
So Aaron gets a thoroughly deserved shout-out for being a brilliant receptionist, a calming presence in the dental chair and, most importantly, a man of impeccable podcast taste.

The mysterious ๐ ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ป๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ of Peterstow remains at large.
So naturally Pauline and Kerry have gone
Unfortunately, their surveillance operation may have been slightly compromised by questionable disguises, a wonky moustache, an oversized hat and the fact theyโd already mentioned their intentions on the podcast.

This episodeโs Shire Shout-Out goes to the brilliant ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ staff at The Amp, who were friendly, welcoming and helped make the event such an enjoyable experience.
