The Journey From Survival to Service: Herbalism, Healing & Second Chances with Adi Miral

Dela

In this episode of the Amoraea Podcast, I sit down with Adi Miral — herbalist, community leader, and someone who has genuinely been through it. Adi's story is one of the most intense I've heard on this show: a devastating 2020 car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury and titanium plates rebuilding his face, a divorce, homelessness, a violent and dangerous relationship, false allegations that led to his arrest and a potential 40-year sentence — and how he came out the other side of all of it.

We talk about how Adi's Ayurvedic roots (his grandfather practiced in India) pulled him toward functional herbs and mushrooms — think lion's mane, Gotu Kola, and Ginkgo Biloba — as he worked to rebuild his brain and body after his accident, and how that knowledge turned into teaching, then into a full community. What started as five people in a small room has grown into a 100+ person herbalism community doing plant walks, tincture workshops, compost sifting, and DIY body care classes (yes, we get into what's actually in a good toothpaste).

We also get into his four-stage framework for personal growth — animal, warrior, explorer, navigator — the psilocybin journey that revealed it to him, and how he's turning hardship into a mission of building community and helping others find their way forward.

Along the way, we talk about what Amoraea is really trying to do differently in the dating world, and why real, in-person connection matters more than another swipe.

About Amoraea:
Amoraea is a psychology-forward matchmaking app for people who've done the work — matching based on attachment style, values, conflict style, and compatibility, with a required interview before you're in.
