The Yankees are locked into the playoffs but aren’t resting—they’re gunning for the top Wild Card seed and a shot at catching the Rays in the AL East. Heading to Arizona, they’ve unveiled their pitching lineup: Gerrit Cole vs. Eduardo Rodriguez on Friday, Cam Schlittler vs. Brandon Pfaadt on Saturday, and Will Warren vs. Corbin Burnes on Sunday. With Schlittler dominating and the team boasting the league’s lowest ERA, the Yankees are building around Cole, Fried, and Rodon for a potential double-header against the Rays next Tuesday. Even with a shortened postseason rotation, Boone may stick with four starters—Schlittler, Cole, Fried, and Rodon—with Warren ready as a long reliever or fifth starter. This pitching core, battered by injuries yet elite, is poised to carry them deep into October.
