The Reds are reshuffling their roster as the season winds down, with Spencer Steer and reliever Julian Garcia both heading to the injured list. To fill spots, they’re calling up Julian Aguiar from Triple-A and snagging utility man Oswaldo Cabrera off waivers from the Yankees. Cabrera, a versatile switch-hitter with power, gets a shot at real MLB time in these final games — low risk, high reward. Meanwhile, Aguiar, who’s recovered from Tommy John surgery, is set to join the bullpen. These moves aim to maximize the remainder of the season while setting up for next year — especially with Garcia’s recovery giving him a full offseason ahead.
